Personal Support Services
Personal Support Services offered by The Difference 2-17 are designed with a deep understanding of the unique needs of disabled adults, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care and support tailored to their specific circumstances.
These services aim to promote independence both at home and in the community, enabling individuals to lead fulfilling lives while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. By focusing on fostering independence and choice, The Difference 2-17 empowers clients to take charge of their daily activities and make choices that enhance their quality of life.
With an emphasis on self reliance as it pertains to skill development that is crucial for achieving independence.
Participants are guided in essential life skills such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning their living spaces. Additionally, safety practices are prioritized, including appliance safety, food preparation and storage, and medication management. Personal hygiene and dressing skills are also integral components of the program. By equipping individuals with these skills, we help them gain confidence and autonomy in their everyday lives.
In addition to practical skills training, participants are encouraged to engage in the community and socialization.
Participants are invited to partake in various activities, such as library visits, movie outings, and outdoor events, which foster a sense of belonging and connection. Social activities, including gym sessions and dance classes, are also promoted to enhance physical health and well-being. With services available seven days a week, The Difference 2-17 is dedicated to meeting the diverse scheduling needs of individuals, ensuring that support is accessible whenever it is needed.
Personal Supports are offered on a 1-1 basis and delivered by The Difference 2-17 staff, mornings, evenings and weekends.
